Kapellendorf - the castle was a headquarters of the Prussians and the allied Saxon and Thuringian troops. There is a well-known, large, impressive monument on Sperlingsberg near Kapellendorf. Not far from him, this monument commemorates the battle of October 14, 1806. It was dedicated exactly 100 years later in memory and is located on a dirt road.

Today, after work, I spontaneously decided to take a detour to Großschwabhausen. This walk had been on my to-do list for a long time. I've already seen the snowflake forest in Tal-Holz, near Milda, but the Großschwabhausen Hain is truly a sensation! It's so amazing, I never would have imagined it! The entire forest is covered in snowflakes, everything is white! And if it isn't exactly white, then it's purple from the liverworts, which are already in bloom. Here and there, a woodpecker tapped, the chaffinches chirped, the tits sang their spring song! It couldn't be more idyllic. There's a parking lot right nearby! You can also take the train directly to the forest. The forest is very close to the train station.
