In 1728, the old church, a street chapel, was demolished and the new church was built, which was consecrated in 1732. In 1833, the tower roof was repaired. The spire received a gold-plated button and a weather vane. It was consecrated in 1972 after years of renovation. The windows were replaced in 1991, followed by the roof and facade in 2001.
