The church's origins date back to the 12th and 13th centuries. It was enlarged in 1723, and the church tower and sacristy were built in 1786.

The tree, covered in mistletoe, lends the rest area a special charm. Added to that is the beautiful view of Markersdorf.

The present hall church was built on a chapel in 1755.

In the 12th and 13th centuries, the Zeulsdorf knights built a large Romanesque chapel on the Hof trade route to protect and control trade and passenger traffic. Renovation and extension works are recorded in 1723. In 1785 and 1786, the church tower was built and the sacristy on the northeast side. In 1832, it was renovated and windows were installed. In 1982, the interior was painted and in 2000 the roof was replaced and the facade renovated. (Wikipedia)
