Pulsnitz Castle, a Renaissance palace, provides a historic setting for sophisticated and comprehensive rehabilitation medicine, available to both publicly and privately insured patients. The Pulsnitz Castle Clinic has been completely renovated and expanded with a swimming pool, gymnasium, and additional therapy rooms and patient rooms. Since its completion in 1993, the clinic has been among the most modern and arguably most beautiful rehabilitation facilities.

Pulsnitz really has more to offer than just gingerbread.

The garden architects took their inspiration from French gardens. Nature was seen as something to be controlled and tamed – nothing was allowed to grow as it pleased; everything was planned with compass and drawing board. The castle and garden form a unified design concept. The strict geometric forms and rigorous symmetries are striking. Elaborately designed flowerbeds, hedges, palisades and avenues, fountains, and water features are typical. The Baroque park was created after 1750. The linear arrangement of sightlines is also typical – the entire splendor of the garden was meant to be taken in at a glance. Around 1830, under Curt Ernst von Posern, who at that time was lord of Pulsnitz Castle and administrator of St. Marienstern Abbey, the castle park was expanded into a landscape park with meadows and groups of trees. English landscape parks became fashionable, giving nature more space and also accepting areas of wild growth. The influence of Prince Pückler, who created Muskau Park for example, is clearly evident.

The Baroque palace is not the first palace on the site. It was only inaugurated in 1718. Before that, the Eustachius House was the residence of the ruling noble family. During the renovation and reconstruction of the Eustachius House under the Saxon chamberlain Johann Georg von Maxen, building materials were salvaged, which were used for the construction of the new palace. As far as is known, the service rooms were located on the ground floor. The rooms on the upper floor were the living quarters of the ruling family.

With the "tunnel effect": The tunnel effect and the impression of "infinity" are achieved through a simple yet clever architectural trick. The width of the passageway is approximately 3.80 m for the first 100 m and only about 2.50 to 3.00 m for the following 100 m.
