The Wanzka Mill is a historic mill ruin in the Wanzka district of the Blankensee municipality. It is located near Lake Wanzka on the Nonnenbach stream, in the heart of the Nonnenbachtal nature reserve. The mill was originally built in the 16th century as a grain mill and later developed into one of the largest milling sites in the Mecklenburg-Strelitz district. Partially destroyed during World War II, the mill remained in operation until the 1950s, continuing to supply electricity to the surrounding area. In the GDR, there were plans to make more intensive use of the Nonnenbach stream's hydropower, which is still evident today in the mill's structural design – with several water chambers for wheels and later turbines. Today, the Wanzka Mill is a three-story ruin and a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers. It offers not only impressive insights into the region's technical and industrial history but also picturesque views of the surrounding lakes and hills.

The "Alte Schmiede" (Old Forge) in Zachow, a district of Groß Nemerow, is a historic building of cultural significance. The village forge was originally closed around 1954 and fell into disrepair over the years. Around 50 years later, around 2004, reconstruction began on the initiative of Joachim Lautenschläger and with the great commitment of the village community. With the support of the municipality, donations of materials, and the residents' own contributions, the forge was faithfully reconstructed. Since 2004, the Alte Schmiede has served as the clubhouse of the Zinnober Kulturkreis Zachow e.V. (Zinnober Cultural Circle Zachow) and is regularly used for cultural events, exhibitions, and private celebrations. Picturesquely situated next to the Zachow village church, it is now a popular meeting place and part of the "Mecklenburg Lake District" pilgrimage route that runs through the village. The Zachow village church, located in the Zachow district of the same name in the municipality of Groß Nemerow, is an impressive example of rural half-timbered architecture from the 17th century. The simple oak building, with its distinctive pointed tower, blends harmoniously into its surroundings and exudes a special, tranquil atmosphere. Since 1991, the church has been used as a cultural venue by the Zachow Cultural Circle. Through exhibitions, concerts, and other events, it has become a vibrant center for art and community. Visitors are generally allowed access to the church, and those wishing to visit outside of regular opening hours can request a key on site.
