The singletrack sections around Petersdorf Lake are not for unsteady walkers or bikers. Especially when slippery (snow/ice or wet leaves/mud), the pace slows down considerably, as the paths are sometimes very narrow and drop relatively steeply 2-4 meters. There are also quite a few tree trunks and holes in the ground. If you enjoy obstacles and have sure footing, you'll love it. 😃

In winter, with snow and ice, this marshland has a mystical quality; the beaver dam and the trees felled by beavers add to the atmosphere. The boardwalk without railings is quite an experience in ice and snow... think penguins! 😅 In my opinion, the circular path around Lake Madlitz is not suitable for people with mobility impairments! Also, watch out for holes in the ground.

The planks are dangerously slippery when wet.

The park is also home to Brandenburg's tallest horse chestnut tree, more than 29.5 m (2005) and an impressive 200 years old (2025).

Always worth it, whatever the weather. The restaurant is open even when it rains.
