At the edge of the monastery grounds lies the Protestant Church of the Holy Cross. The church is small compared to the monastery, but it's also beautiful. It's definitely worth a look inside.

The Baroque garden is beautiful and offers many different areas. Standing on the hill approaching the monastery, you not only have a view of the fountain, but also of the surrounding countryside. Water runs through the entire garden. A vegetable garden is interwoven throughout, as are hidden corners, such as the pergola with a view of the monastery.

A church that is less impressive and more inconspicuous from the outside. However, the interior is beautiful and definitely worth a visit.

The Protestant parish church of the Holy Cross is the second church of the Neuzelle monastery, next to the Catholic collegiate church of St. Mary. It is a little smaller, but no less worth seeing.

The parish church of the Holy Cross stands on the site of the medieval gate chapel of St. Giles from the 14th century. In 1728/34 the Gothic building was replaced by today's baroque cross-domed church. Restoration measures took place in 1961/64 and 1988/92. From 2009 to 2017 the church was completely renovated again.

The Neuzelle monastery has two churches: the collegiate church of St. Marien was reserved for the monastery convent, while the smaller cruciform church was intended for public pastoral care. After the Reformation, the monks in Neuzelle looked after the remaining Catholics in the region. The Church of the Holy Cross was built around 1730 in the Rococo style. Its vault, decorated with beautiful strapwork, opens towards the sanctuary to a mighty dome. Here the triumph of the Catholic Church can be seen on the largest ceiling fresco in Lower Lusatia.

The monastery gardens were redesigned in 1760 in the "French taste" and are considered the only baroque park in Brandenburg whose basic structures were not redesigned in later times. The baroque paths and water systems, the steep terraces, the orangery and parts of the historical plant population have been preserved. In recent years, the "Stift Neuzelle" foundation has largely restored parts of the historic garden monument according to plans from 1758 and revived a testament to the art of gardening that is unique in Brandenburg. The Neuzell monastery gardens are among the most important gardens in Germany. They impress with their symmetries, lines of sight and a terrace area that allows a wide view over the baroque gardens and the wide, table-level Oder lowlands. D
