In the GDR, the most important retail companies were the Handelsorganisation (HO) and Konsum. HO was a state-owned enterprise, while Konsum was a cooperatively organized chain. Both had a wide network of outlets, including department stores, grocery stores, and specialty shops. Konsum was particularly active in rural areas and was designed to ensure the supply of the local population. Members of the consumer cooperatives received discounts on their purchases, which were issued as consumer vouchers and paid out at the end of the year.

You need to be pretty fit to get up here by bike, but it's worth it.

Trostadt Monastery and the present-day town of Trostadt are located on the upper reaches of the Werra, about seven kilometers west of the district town of Hildburghausen. The town is located on the western edge of the valley, already in a flood-prone location, barely two meters above the Werra floodplain. The Counts of Henneberg became supporters of the Premonstratensian Order in Thuringia in 1130 and in 1131, thanks to generous donations, enabled the founding of a double monastery in the town of Veßra. In return, Veßra Monastery was designated as the counts' private monastery and from 1182 onwards was also used as their burial place. Here lies the Brunnquell - a karst spring that has a discharge of 200 liters per second. The spring is fed by rainwater from the area surrounding Hildburghausen. The water emerges from the porous soil over several hundred meters.

The shelter is beautifully designed and the roof is covered in vegetation. Unfortunately, the view is very limited, but you can still see the Ebenhards church in the distance.

A private garden with a wonderful design that will make you smile more than once! The animals are all grouped thematically and it takes a while to really take in all the details. The garden is perfectly viewed from a low fence.
