The Catholic branch church of St. Markus was built in 1931 from red sandstone, for which our region is known (and from which the Porta Nigra was also made).

The wayside cross is still clearly legible; the inscription reads: Founded be you, holy cross, you only hope of mortals.

At a new location on the outskirts of the village, erected in 1931 according to plans by architect Josef Monz, Trier, red sandstone quarry stone building with slate roofing. Geostter hall on four axes of narrow, pointed-arch brick windows as well as a recessed, straight-closing chancel. The gable facade is striking with a massive, simply stepped tower growing out of the front under a pointed gabled saddle roof. The interior is determined by the suspended, pointed-arched wooden barrel construction with its triangular slits cutting into the bearing of the side walls. The choir, open in the pointed arch, also has a wooden barrel of the same height. The focal point is the festive baroque columned altar with figural decorations in the main and niche (Our Lady with Child, Saint Mark in the procession) between the columns (Saint Agatha, Saint Barbara) and on the volute webs above (Saint Maternus, Saint Valerius). In the chancel today the bell from 1707 returned from the war metal collection. There is also a Gothic crucifix. The small church is a rare testimony in the area of the clear impact of modern architectural efforts of the 1920s, which is expressed here in the material truth and in the use of the pointed arch as a construction and decorative element.
