“Each of these crosses can tell its own story and what motivated people to erect“ their ”cross at this point. (...) These crossroads were erected as visible signs and attract the eyes of many people. The cross is a symbol of life. It stands as a sign of our Christian hope and wants to direct our gaze to Jesus Christ, who overcame death (...). The cross is part of our life, just as it was part of the life of Jesus. So I hope that many people ... visit the crossroads, whether as places of silence and breathing before God, whether as places of congregation meeting, prayer and praise of God. In the apse of this chapel there is a depiction of Our Lady called "Pieta", with Mary holding her dead son on her lap. Probably the world's most famous depiction of a "Pieta" is in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and was created by the young Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475-1564).

The chapel and the wayside cross date from 1830. Josef and Maria Esper erected this cross. It is not known whether they are also responsible for building the chapel.

On this narrow path, which winds up between the houses at Alteck 5 and 3 to the main street, you walk under a covered bridge that connects two half-timbered houses.

The brown brick chapel is called the Most Holy Trinity. Somewhat gloomy from the outside, inside it offers a brighter and friendlier ambience with a statue of the Virgin Mary. Groomed.

There is an old beet washing station at this point. Here the sugar beets were cleared of earth and stones before they were sold to the Insutrie. The Brohlbach was diverted to this basin for this purpose. Another facility can be found near Gevenich. There the brook flows through it.
