The Hammelburg military training area is a training area that was created in 1895 as a shooting range for the Bavarian Army, with the Hammelburg camp as troop accommodation. The approximately 4,000 hectare site with the Bonnland training village and the barracks in the Hammelburg district is currently used by the Bundeswehr Infantry School and the "VN Training Center" (VNAusbZBw), among others. The training area is subordinate to the Bundeswehr Territorial Command and belongs to the "Troop Training Area Command SOUTH" (Wikipedia)
