Rheda Castle is a former moated castle in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, in the Gütersloh district. The music collection has been on loan to the University and State Library of Münster since 1966.

Anyone strolling through Rheda's old town will encounter the past at every turn. Nobleman Bernhard I of Lippe founded the residence around 1200. Located directly on the Ems in Rheda, the palace impresses with its white hall in the Rococo style, a breathtaking castle chapel and the picturesque castle park. The chapel tower, as the oldest part of the complex, also has a special charm. It is not for nothing that the building is one of the most important examples of late romantic architecture in Westphalia.
