Thurytal is worth a hike at any time of year.

Entry to the museum with a carriage ride is incredibly affordable at less than €10 per person. However, it is only open to registered groups.

A museum about the horse-drawn railway with a restaurant. There is still half a kilometer of intact railway line here, which you can travel on in a historic carriage. The museum is open on Sundays during the summer months and also during the week in August.

There is a beautifully decorated old railway station right on the horse-drawn railway hiking trail. Right next door is the recommended Gasthof zur Pferdeeisenbahn.

I learned today that "Kropfhammer" is also the place name for the (wsl old) house with the old machine - discovered on the sign coming from Grünbach. Fresh photos from above from the former bed of the mill stream - the ruins haven't really changed.
