The Kreuzenstein Tavern is located directly at the foot of Kreuzenstein Castle in Leobendorf and is a popular stop for visitors to the region. The restaurant offers classic Austrian and regional cuisine, from schnitzel and boiled beef to seasonal specialties. Immediately opposite the gate to Kreuzenstein Castle, the castle tavern invites you to refresh yourself again after a long period of closure since April 2023 - even in winter with slightly reduced opening times. In summer there is also a beer garden.

Of course you have to look closely: in the distance you can see the striking landmark of the tower of the Catholic St. Stephen's Church in Stockerau. At 88 meters high, this is the highest church tower in Lower Austria.

Between Schliefberg and Leobendorf there is a particularly impressive view of Kreuzenstein Castle - the historicizing show castle built between 1874 and 1906 on the site of a medieval hilltop castle. The polar explorer and art collector Count Johann Nepomuk Wilczek had it built as a museum for his art collections.
