Not far from Wahlscheid, you'll find a fantastic panorama of the rolling hills of the Bergisches Land region. Wild meadows and open fields characterize the landscape here.

The Sülz meadows near Hoffnungsthal lead you across meadows and through light woodland. The river strongly shapes the landscape here. During floods, the Sülz can overflow its banks. The damp soils provide a diverse habitat for plants and animals.

Eulenbroich Castle was built around 1200 as a moated castle and is located in the Sülz river valley, very close to the center of Rösrath. Over the centuries, the building has served many different purposes: as a grand bourgeois villa, as the mayor's residence, and as a retirement home. Since 2003, the Eulenbroich Castle Cultural Association has managed the castle. Today, Eulenbroich Castle is open to the public for concerts, corporate events, markets, seminars, conferences, weddings, communion celebrations, and birthday parties.

The Turmhof portal was once the largest heathland farm in the area. It is nestled within the historic scattered settlement of Rösrath-Brands with its wood-pastures, fields, and pastures, and borders directly on the Wahner Heide nature reserve. In addition to the Heideportal, the Turmhof also houses the Bergische Greifvogelhilfe (Bergisch Bird of Prey Rescue), the Biological Station, the BUND Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis (Friends of the Earth Germany, Rheinisch-Bergischer district), and the Bündnis Heideterrasse (Heath Terrace Alliance).

There they are, perched on poles and canopies, the creatures. They seem accustomed to the public and don't get disturbed.
