In addition to the exotic plant park directly at the Liliental farm, the arboretum features various small themed groves and experimental areas. I only visited a portion of these on my hike; one could certainly spend quite a bit of time here on the paths with their information panels.

A surprisingly large number of California redwoods, certainly unusual for Germany, even if they seem a bit too far apart for a forest. Unfortunately, they stopped growing several years ago, and many crowns are already quite withered – as an information panel explains, they apparently lacked water once they reached a certain size. Anyone who appreciates these trees with their very soft, red bark, but doesn't want to travel to California and happens to be in northern Spain should visit the "Secuoyas del Monte Cabezon" southwest of Santander.

The Gasthaus zur Lilie enchants not only with its excellent service, but also with its idyllic location in the heart of the Kaiserstuhl.

The Jüdischer Friedhof (Jewish Cemetery) in Ihringen is beautifully situated amidst the vineyards, offering a peaceful atmosphere and a special touch to the place. It is sometimes used as a starting point for hikes in the region. If you'd like to learn more about the history of Jewish cemeteries, they are often referred to as "Beit HaChayim" (House of Life) due to Judaism's positive view of life and the memory of the deceased. Jewish tradition dictates the permanence of graves, meaning they are not moved or reused.

The Lilie is a small castle. There's not much going on here during the week, but it's really happening on the weekends 🤫 Except on Mondays and Tuesdays, there are delicious things to eat here 😋

From the heights of the Kaiserstuhl, Breisach am Rhein reveals itself like a pearl perched on the banks of the majestic river. Its imposing cathedral dominates the landscape, watching over the colorful rooftops of the historic center. The Rhine plain stretches as far as the eye can see, its meanders sparkling in the sun. On the horizon, the Vosges Mountains sketch a bluish silhouette, adding a touch of depth to this grandiose panorama. A picture where nature and history blend harmoniously.
