Between 1908 and 1909, the municipality of Berndorf built two schools – one for girls and one for boys – next to St. Margaret's Church. The interiors are unique worldwide and were designed and financed by Arthur Krupp. Each classroom was furnished in a different historical architectural style. Arthur Krupp wanted to use this method to show the children of his employees the world and its history. The schools at that time also provided extensive health facilities. Arthur Krupp established the first school dental clinic in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire and made it available to all students free of charge.

Anyone who wants to understand Hermann and Arthur Krupp should start with a tour of the Krupp City Museum, located in the former sausage factory. The museum's focus is on the permanent exhibition on the life and work of the Krupp family and Berndorf's development into an industrial city. Collections of cutlery and tableware, as well as early historical exhibits from Berndorf's history, complement the tour.

Arthur and his wife Margaret Krupp considered it important to create places of faith for their employees. When St. Mary's Church became too small, they commissioned Ludwig Baumann to build St. Margaret's Church between 1910 and 1917. Its namesake is his wife and Saint Margaret, who also became the patron saint of the parish church and was Queen of Scotland (1046-1093). The church sets a strong accent in the townscape and is considered a landmark of Berndorf. The interior is dominated by the finely chiseled, 20-ton bronze high altar, created in 1915, with its larger-than-life statue of St. Margaret. In keeping with the taste of the time, stained glass was used to create a mystical darkness in churches. The entire glazing was made of violet cathedral glass.
