Kritsa is a charming and historic village on Crete, situated on a hill called Kastellos, at an altitude of approximately 375 meters. The village is built amphitheater-like, surrounded by olive trees, and belongs to the municipality of Agios Nikolaos.

In the pedestrian area in Agios Nikolaos you can stroll and visit the many shops that can be found here. You will find small boutiques and you can look for all kinds of nice trinkets.

According to Greek myth, Amaltheia was a nymph who raised the god Zeus with goat's milk. Her horn is considered a symbol of abundance, also known as the cornucopia. An approximately 8-meter-high sculpture of this cornucopia can be found here at a small rest area on the promenade. It creates a beautiful effect against the backdrop of the sea and the bay.
