Zehdenick Castle is situated on a green peninsula on the Havel River and boasts a history dating back to the Middle Ages. In the 16th century, a Renaissance castle was built on the old foundations, but this was destroyed in 1631 during the Thirty Years' War. Later, a half-timbered building was constructed, which was used as a private residence from 1809 onwards. After several renovations and periods of use as a boarding school and a retirement home, the castle was opened to the public in 2003 following extensive restoration.

The Schulze-Hübner Stich is a stitch, not a lake 😉. The clay-stitch landscape is artificially created.

A clearing in the forest leads to the shallow swimming area. The lake is easily accessible and surrounded by sand. With warm temperatures and sunshine, it's sure to be a great place for a swim.

Italian restaurant located right by the harbor. I had super delicious fig cake 🍰

Very good food and a beautiful view of the water. There is also the possibility for cyclists to take a shower here.

Now called "Da Vinci". One of the few restaurants open on our bikepacking tour through the Uckermark in August 2024. Friendly and delicious.

From the towpath you have a pretty good view of the beautiful bailiff's house - also called the little castle.
