About 0.5 km north of Kettershausen there is a narrow, almost 1 km long reservoir fed by the Günz with a small power station at its upper end. The natural state of the water and its banks is a magnet for all kinds of water birds and amphibians.

Johannes Birndorfer, born in 1818, had renounced his paternal inheritance and instead entered the St. Anne's Monastery in Altötting. There, he called himself Konrad and, as a gatekeeper, was responsible for caring for pilgrims. He was said to have been very popular among the pilgrims. He was beatified in 1930 and canonized soon after. The foundation stone for the chapel was laid in 1935. As early as 1457, the castle ruins at this site and the village of Mohrenhausen, along with all its goods, rights, and people, were sold to the Roggenburg Monastery. The previous owner was Veit II of Rechberg, who owned the freestanding hill on the edge of the Günz Valley and had a castle there.
