The Alconera Refuge is a forest refuge located in the Serranía de Cuenca, in Castilla-La Mancha. It is an ideal place for lovers of hiking and cycling. The refuge has a fireplace and lounge chairs, and is open to the public without reservation. A popular route is the one that goes from the Alconera Refuge to the Pozarrón Refuge, passing through the Rincón del Buitre and the Cañada del Mostajo. It is a quiet route without much elevation, perfect for enjoying nature.🚵🚶‍♀️😎🌄

We had a small, simple, very clean and quiet twin room in a cozy and warm hostel with several common rooms. The hosts are very nice and helpful. It is possible to have lunch and dinner in addition to breakfast. The typical Spanish lunch menu prepared by Elena, which we ate every day, was very tasty and varied and is highly recommended. For your own food preparation, there is a dining room with a refrigerator, toaster, microwave, dishes and cutlery. We were able to park our tandem safely at the hostel. In just a few minutes walk you are in the old town. We were very happy that we were able to wait out the bad weather for several days in this hostel during Holy Week 2024.

Excellent cabin enabled as a free refuge where you can spend the night. With fireplace, door that closes well and good insulation. There are no water sources very close.
