A deep pristine lake, perfect for swimming. Its a great place to cool off, but ther aren't any camping spots near the lakeshore but there are places a the end of the trail. You can also do some fishing for trout

This point in the trail offers a good view of Cinder Cone's symmetrical, domed shape characteristic of the loose, pyroclastic scoria that comprises it.

This shore of Butte Lake features a boat ramp and a campground with potable water, vault toilets, and campsites. Take the loop or hike at least along the east side of the pond. Here are the most existing geothermal activities like bubbling mudholes and steaming soil. The mudholes are not visible from the west shore.
