The Saint-Nithier church in Clairvaux-les-Lacs is a Romanesque style church with a double-decker dome bell tower dedicated to Saint Nithier. Lac de Clairvaux-les-Lacs is a beautiful lake nestled in the Jura mountains. It is very pretty, with crystal clear waters, sandy beaches and surrounding forests.

The lakes of Clairvaux - the large and the small lake - are located in the heart of the country of lakes and waterfalls of the Jura. If they serve as a base for many vacationers and hikers, they are also important ecosystems for birds, amphibians especially in the wetlands that connect the two lakes.
