Good asphalt surface the whole way (except in Korucuk village, look out for the nearly invisible speed bumps there). Slightly more climbing but reasonable gradients, decent scenery and almost no traffic.
The old Madrasa rebuilt into a complex of jewelry stores. You can find lots of jewelry made from the local Oltu stone. And the building itself is worth seeing (inside and outside).
