The Mike Castle Trail is a 12.4-mile asphalt path that connects Delaware City Marina to the Ben Cardin C&D Canal Recreational Trail at the Delaware/Maryland state line near Newark. The trail offers several parking areas with restrooms along the route, as well as nice river views.

Gordon's Pond is a small reservoir located within Cape Henloen State Park. There is an official overlook platform from the southwestern banks that is a popular spot for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts.
