Ennsegg Castle was built in the 16th century on the remains of a medieval castle on Georgenberg hill. Constructed between 1565 and 1570 by Imperial Councilor Georg Gienger von Rotteneck, it changed hands several times over the centuries among noble families such as the Ungnad, Trautson, and Auersperg families. The castle witnessed significant historical events: Emperor Francis Stephen of Lorraine stayed overnight here in 1764, Marie Antoinette traveled through Enns in 1770, and Napoleon Bonaparte quartered himself here in 1809 after the Battle of Ebelsberg. In the 19th century, the castle park was laid out in the English style, and a comprehensive restoration began at the end of the 20th century. Today, Ennsegg Castle serves as a cultural center, housing the Enns Regional Music School, the Museum 1212 Enns, and the castle chapel.

Achleiten Castle is a private property and is not normally open to visitors. However, it attracts numerous guests every year in June when the well-known CDI Achleiten dressage tournament takes place on the grounds. During this event, the riding facility and part of the castle grounds are open to visitors, so that interested parties have access to the tournament areas.

The beautiful castle on the quiet side street now houses a hunting museum
