The weather shelter, which was faithfully renovated in 2018 (although without the former bell tower), is located at an altitude of 530 meters and is believed to have been built as early as 1866. Bad Elster's garden inspector Paul Schindel had it rebuilt several times during the design of his North Park (now the Forest Park) at the beginning of the 20th century.

All nice gravel paths. So normal hiking clothes and shoes are recommended.

The Lohe Hütt'n is getting a new roof covering. Work was being carried out diligently as we walked past (2024) 👍 thanks to the hard-working people who are taking care of it ‼️
