The Kellmetschweiher is located between the two communities of Böhl-Iggelheim and Schifferstadt in a forested area in the Ludwigshafen-Rhein district. It is a renatured gravel lake with shore areas that are now rich in vegetation. The relatively shallow depth ensures lush underwater vegetation in which pike, zander, perch and carp feel particularly comfortable. The water is managed by the Kellmetschweiher fishing club. Fishing time is from 1 hour before sunrise to 1 hour after sunset. Guest tickets are available. You can fish with 2 rods – one for coarse fish, one for predatory fish. A maximum of 10 pounds of fish may be caught per person per day. The lake can be reached via forest paths, which can be reached from Böhl-Iggelheim, for example via the L528. From Schifferstadt you can reach the forest paths via the L454.

This landscape and bird sanctuary is precisely called “Vorderer Roxheimer Altrhein-Krumbeeräcker”, is 25.3 hectares in size and belongs to the Rhine-Palatinate area. There are rare plant and animal species, as you can see on the Nabu information boards. It's relatively easy to guess what crumbberries - i.e. potatoes - have to do with it. A circumnavigation of this arm of the Old Rhine is just over 5 km long. You can stop off at Seestube Bader, for example, where the food and service are always good (www.seehotelbader.de).
