The Aeschlenalp above Heiligenschwendi/Schwarzenegg is a real insider tip for anyone seeking peace, nature, and views 🌿🐄. Surrounded by rolling hills, forests, and mountain meadows, it offers an idyllic alpine landscape with panoramic views of the Aare Valley, Lake Thun, and, on clear days, even as far as the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau ⛰️👀. Accessibility: On foot or by bike from Heimenschwand, Schwarzenegg (approx. 1.5–2.5 hours, depending on the route). Easily accessible via forest paths – ideal for hikers and mountain bikers 🥾🚵‍♂️. Highlights: ✅ Peace & quiet ✅ Grazing cows & typical alpine atmosphere 🐮 ✅ Views of the Bernese Oberland & Emmental ✅ In summer: Fresh alpine cheese directly from the alp (depending on the season) 🧀 Recommendation: Perfect for a half-day or after-work hike, with a picnic on the meadow and sunset over Lake Thun 🌅.

A great base for tours or as a destination, with a rustic alpine flair and fantastic views toward Niesen, Lake Thun, Gerihorn, Justiztal, Niederhorn, etc., especially from the easily accessible Morgenberghorn (2-hour ascent). Accessible from Aeschiried-Greberegg, Därligen, Leissigen, through the Suld Valley, and Saxeten. From Lake Thun, the 1,000-meter climb is a worthwhile experience. From Greberegg, there are fantastic views toward Interlaken and Lake Brienz. The alp is a must-see.

A visit to this friendly little restaurant is not to be missed. It is self-service, but always has delicious cakes and very friendly service. Afterwards, you can simply enjoy the view ;-)

Definitely worth a break - and buy some Alb and/or goat cheese for your picnic on the Morgenberghorn.

The Jägerstübli on the Lombachalp is a cozy mountain inn known for its warm atmosphere and traditional Swiss cuisine. It offers an ideal rest stop for hikers. At the Jägerstübli you can enjoy regional specialties, including homemade rösti, alpine cheese and other local delicacies. The inviting terrace offers a wonderful view of the surrounding mountain landscape and is a perfect place to relax after a hike.
