Armeau is a small town of more than 700 people. Here, the Yonne looks more like a pond. On a nice summer day, swans will gracefully pass by, but they are not there in winter. Please do not give them bread or any other food.

At the top of the hill of Villecien is a magnificent castle hidden among the trees and its high walls. The chateau was recently the home of famed cookbook writer Anne Willan, but after she retired to California in 2017, the chateau was sold.

Built in 1845, this suspension bridge is worth a detour. If you go down the east bank of the Yonne on the south bank to this place, you can admire the suspension bridge in all its glory.

From this vantage point, you can see the bridge and the town of Joigny in all its glory, accentuated by the vineyards that surround you.
