Very beautiful and quiet place to ride.

Small town on the bank of the Yonne, and at the junction of the Gurgy Diversion, a section of Canal that joins two parts of the river.

Good news: the Migennes Esnon section of the Burgundy canal, stony and not very passable, has just been completed on the other bank by a magnificent section of perfectly asphalted cycle route! Much easier to go from Migennes (SNCF station) to BRIENON

There is a good view of the riverside city from here and from the other bridges.

In addition to the history of the bridge, which is named after the third American president, it also offers one of the most beautiful views of the old town of Auxerre. This is bathed in a beautiful light, especially in the morning. And all without traffic.

The Passerelle de Preuilly, which crosses the Yonne, offers a beautiful view of the old town of Auxerre. In 1913, France's first steel bridge was completed here in Auxerre. The bridge consisted of two 55m arches and was 3m wide. The bridge was rebuilt at the end of 1990. In 2009 it was named the Thomas-Jefferson Liberty Bridge. A plaque on the Left Bank honors the third President of the United States (1801-1809). A "symbol of Franco-American friendship," as she puts it. He crossed the department as ambassador and moved to Auxerre in 1787.
