The old stone bridge is located in the upper part of the two-tiered waterfall, separating the two stages. It blends beautifully into this rocky landscape. From it, the view extends down along the lower part to the base of the waterfall with its lake and the town of Faido and its surroundings. To the side and upwards, you can see the upper part of the waterfalls between the rocks. A wonderful experience!

Beautiful refreshing waterfall

Great waterfall. You can take a refreshing dip in the pools and just sit and enjoy nature.

Very beautiful waterfall, located right on the outskirts of Faido. There are parking spaces nearby, and there is a wonderful rest and barbecue area on the Ticino. With a short walk you can also reach the waterfall from above, an absolutely premium place to relax for a few minutes or hours. Reachable from the A2 in 5 minutes, the place is also ideal for a relaxing break on your vacation.

Poles required if hiking early in the season (mid/late June) as there may still be snow over the falls!

Here the hiking trail, which is also part of the Strada alta, leads over the Riale Formigario torrent. Depending on the amount of water and the season, a beautiful waterfall is formed, stacked stones form a natural pool.

Ancient stone bridge between Personico and Giornico, near Faidal. The path is part of the Via Gottardo, a hiking itinerary that follows the ancient route dating back to the 13th century that connected Milan and Basel through the Unterer Hauenstein and the Gotthard Pass.
