The Thanwald cabin features an open barbecue area and a fireplace. It also has its own toilet. Numerous seating options and large tables offer plenty of space for games, fun, and leisure. It is easily accessible by car.

It's always nice to cross passes that offer new vistas and allow you to step from one world into another. The Leitere Pass is one of those. Coming from Stockhort, you've got the last few meters of the tour to Gurnigel ahead of you, and you can perhaps look forward to a glass of milk or a cheese at Nünenealp. Or you're on your way toward Stockhorn and see the varied trail via Hohmad, Chatz & Mus, and Walalp for the first time. Yes, it is a beautiful place.

The Aeschlenalp above Heiligenschwendi/Schwarzenegg is a real insider tip for anyone seeking peace, nature, and views 🌿🐄. Surrounded by rolling hills, forests, and mountain meadows, it offers an idyllic alpine landscape with panoramic views of the Aare Valley, Lake Thun, and, on clear days, even as far as the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau ⛰️👀. Accessibility: On foot or by bike from Heimenschwand, Schwarzenegg (approx. 1.5–2.5 hours, depending on the route). Easily accessible via forest paths – ideal for hikers and mountain bikers 🥾🚵‍♂️.
