One of the few via ferratas in the Brenta Massif. This C/D climb runs along a ridge on the southeast flank of Monte Grappa and runs above a tunnel on the SP141. An exit is also available there.

11월 13, 2024, Rifugio Bassano e Casa Armata del Grappa
The Bassano refuge is located on the top of Monte Grappa, at 1,750 meters above sea level, and is the only refreshment point near the Sacrario. The structure offers a panoramic view that ranges from the Veneto plain to the Dolomites and offers typical dishes of Venetian cuisine, such as pappardelle with wild boar and gnocchi with mountain cheeses. The refuge is a resting place for hikers and cyclists, and is open all year round, with closures on Mondays and Tuesdays during the winter. Monte Grappa is known for its historical and natural importance. An ideal destination for mountain and history lovers, it offers a 360-degree view and numerous trails, as well as being a point of reference for the memory of the world wars. The summit is accessible via trails, asphalt roads and cycle paths.

If you cycle up Monte Grappa, you should not miss a visit to the "Ossarium", a monumental memorial to the soldiers who died here in the senseless trench warfare during the First World War. The road up Monte Grappa ends at a large car park at Rifugio Bassano. From here, it is only a long flight of stairs to the Ossarium and then you can admire the extensive Ossarium and enjoy the overwhelming view. On my first visit, I pushed my racing bike up the stairs because I didn't have a lock with me. On my second visit with my friend, we locked the bikes in the car park and climbed up.

Cycling in Val delle Mure is a pleasant experience, among splendid beech forests interspersed with pastures and mountain huts. With a little attention you can see rocks dotted with tunnels, grassy traces of trenches and walkways, countless conical depressions caused by the explosions of the First World War. This was one of the main stretches of immediate rear, devastated by bombs and marked by walkways and fields of barbed wire: there were the first war cemeteries, the small first aid posts, the reinforcement troops awaiting the order to counterattack towards the surrounding peaks. The serene silence of today barely compensates for the echoes of the screams and rumbles of that time.

5월 30, 2023, Rifugio Bassano e Casa Armata del Grappa
The Bassano Refuge, a few steps from the Military Memorial, was built in 1896 by the Italian Alpine Club (Bassano section) as a "hut" to make it easier for members who went there on excursions to stop. During the Second World War the refuge was burned down. It was later reopened in 1949 after being restructured, enlarged and equipped with a large parking lot. Today the refuge is equipped with a restaurant seating around 250 with a panoramic view of the Venetian plain, a bar and a room for packed lunches. Managed by the Coletto family since 2002, it is open all year round and closes on Tuesdays from November to April.

It is a truly grandiose military fortification work, built in 10 months, starting in November 1917. It was designed by Col. del Genio Nicola Gavotti to strengthen the defense of the Grappa massif. It has a tunnel development of about 5 Km., consists of a main arm of m. 1,500, from which numerous secondary branches radiate towards the artillery and machine-gun emplacements, observers and outlets for counter-offensive sorties
