It's not just "a great castle up there" .... It's actually 3 castles that are called "Thuringia's balcony". :-)

The middle of the three castles was built in the 18th century as a rococo castle according to plans by Gottfried Heinrich Krohne. A landscape garden in front of the Renaissance castle and a geometrically designed garden with a rose arcade at the Rococo castle combine the ensemble into a picturesque unit.
