A lovely spot to take a break. What's no longer so lovely is that the former meadow path to the hut has been completely obliterated with frost protection material, so now cars can easily drive right up to it. In my opinion, this is yet another example of blind destruction of nature, because a few people simply don't want to or can't walk 50 meters. It devalues this wonderful natural spot...

You're used to seeing a summit cross from afar. That's not the case here. A good 10 meters before the cross, you'll hear a surprised "ahh!" But it's definitely a good place to rest! It's nice that there are plenty of rest stops all around.

The Lange Bahn mountain hut is located in the middle of the forest at the end of the archaeological hiking trail and is a nice place to stop on a hike. Here you can get simple food and drinks. The hiking hut is open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can find more information and the menu at https://lange-bahn.de/.

Historic place of railway history, beginning of trade union work. Today a nice rest area, there are many places to sit

The most famous vantage point with a beautiful view of the city is dedicated to the gallery and portrait painter and park designer Samuel Diez. The Diezhäuschen was destroyed by arson in 2013 and rebuilt by the city of Meiningen in 2015.
