Formerly situated in a picturesque setting surrounded by trees, now everything has been cleared and the hitherto popular rest area is now draughty, windy, in a field of stumps. Terrible.

This Finnhütte (refers to the construction of the hut) is actually called “Glöcknerhütte” and is (for me) one of the most beautiful refuges on the Rennsteig. Always decorated according to the season, with a hut book and beautiful outdoor facilities, right on the Rennsteig.
