The castle itself is not open to the public. It's hard to find a good view when the trees are in leaf. It's barely visible from the gate, and even from the dike, it's only partially visible.

Kasteel Nederhemert is located on an old bend in the Maas. It is a restored castle from the 14th century. The castle is used as an office. The area is great for walking and cycling.

This nature reserve is perfect for a quiet walk or bike ride, where you can fully enjoy the open space, silence and the special flora and fauna that the area is rich in.

Beautiful views over the heath. The cycle paths in this area are narrow and can be busy, especially during weekends and holiday periods. The quietest times are early or late in the day. If you're lucky, you can feel completely alone in the world for a while. Sand and/or mud can sometimes make the cycle path slippery or less visible.

In the Loonse and Drunense Duinen you will find forests, heathland and, above all, a lot of sand. It is one of the largest drifting sand areas in Western Europe. The wind can blow undisturbed in many places, creating an ever-changing landscape. By purchasing it in 1921, it has been protected for 100 years and we can still enjoy this Brabant Sahara. For 100 years, this has been the ideal place to rest after walking or cycling through the dunes. At the edge of the forest with a view over the meadows, it is wonderful to dream away. Adventures start or end here.
