This wonderful forest trail lets you immerse into nature not far from Helsinki.

Haltiala Farm is a popular exhibition farm located in Helsinki that offers visitors a glimpse of traditional Finnish countryside life with cows, goats, sheep, pigs, hens, and lambs. The animals are mostly outdoors during summer and autumn, and visitors can see them from early morning until late evening. The farm also features cultivated fields where peas and flowers can be freely picked in summer, and it has an on-site restaurant called Wanha Pehtoori, providing a welcoming experience for families and nature lovers. The farmyard is open year-round, free to visit, and part of the larger Central Park outdoor recreation area

Great gravel paths through beautiful nature

This is a picturesque area in Vantaa, where the Keravanjoki River flows through Tikkurila. This landscape beautifully integrates both natural and cultural elements. The rapids themselves were recently restored by partially demolishing a historic dam, allowing water to flow freely for fish and other wildlife. The surrounding banks have been revitalized for recreational use, featuring new bridges, walkways, and social areas that blend with the area's industrial heritage, including preserved dam walls and old factory buildings.

There are several information boards around the Arboretum area. The main information boards are in the vicinity of the Keinumäki birdwatching tower. Bike racks are available nearby the birdwatching towers. Goal ist that we do not attach, lock or lean bikes on trees or structures.

Pitkäkosken luonnonsuojelualue is a small but charming nature reserve near Loimaa, centred around the Loimijoki river and its rapids. The area features mixed forest, riverside trails, and picnic spots, making it a peaceful detour for cyclists seeking a nature break. While you can ride close to the reserve on gravel and asphalt roads, exploring the site itself requires leaving your bike and walking short forest paths—sturdy shoes recommended. It’s best for a quiet pause rather than a full-day visit, and there are no services on-site, so pack water and snacks.

The Church of St. Lawrence (Finnish: Vantaan Pyhän Laurin kirkko; Swedish: Helsinge kyrka S:t Lars) is a church in Vantaa, Finland. Dating back to ca. 1450, it is the oldest building in Vantaa and all of Greater Helsinki.[2] It is also the main church of the Tikkurila Parish. Along with its surrounding neighborhood, the church is a part of the Helsingin pitäjän kirkonkylä district, which is one of the best preserved historical parishes in all of Finland.[3] The Church of St. Lawrence was partially destroyed in a fire on 7 May 1893,[3] after which it was reconstructed in a Gothic Revival style.
