From the dam you have a beautiful view of the dam.

The burnt out stone at Oberhof is an artificial breakthrough through the rock. It was important for the Lütsche Flößgraben when it was built. The alternation of fire and ice-cold water made the stone brittle and could be worked with mining tools. A 38 m long, 2.3 m high and 2.2 m wide tunnel was created. If you follow the path further you come to the “Hohen Stein” with a wonderful view. The path back to Oberhof leads past the upper Sieglitzteich. Gleichen Castle is a medieval castle ruin in Thuringia near Gotha. It is part of the Drei Gleichen castle ensemble and today belongs to the Thuringian Castles and Gardens Foundation.

The tunnel was built by miners in 1704. You can easily walk through it without a lamp. In winter there are wonderful icicles. A nice highlight on the hike.

The castle complex, part of the "Drei Gleichen" (Three Gleichen) range, can be reached via the Schlossleite (castle ladder), among other routes. Once at the top, it offers a view over the charming village of Mühlberg.

A historical castle complex with a small museum, which was first mentioned in a document in 1089.

The Mühlburg is open from March to October: Daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday/Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission is €2.50

This castle was still missing from all three of us .. & like all the others very impressive :)
