A local told me, the legend is that over 400 years ago, a red-headed witch called Helga was relegated here from Bad Urach. If you throw a coin inside, you’ll get good luck. Don’t know how true the story is but it’s a great hole.

Small typical sight for the karst underground here on the Alb. Such “hellholes” can be found on the opposite Alb plateau near Roßfeld.

Currently in the winter months you should only go to the entrance, but not further in, as it is a quiet zone for bats. Beautiful little cave.

There are several small caves and shelters on the narrow path when you go to the Barnberg Cave. All classic Albkalk caves right on the edge.
