If you want to get into the cave, have a flashlight at hand, a mobile phone light does not help much, the cave is too deep for that :-)

It is a spacious, dry karst cave with stalactites and cave clay. It is 46 meters long and served as a habitation for people of the Stone Age, as we know from tool finds.

Limestone is dissolved by carbon dioxide-containing water and washed out. This process is called karstification.

In the beginning, the water circulates in fine clefts and widens them by solution more and more, until finally gaps, corridors and extensive, branched cave systems arise.

The resulting Alb caves are mostly dry today.

However, to protect any animals living there, entering the cave (according to § 39 Federal Nature Conservation Act) is prohibited in the period from 01 October to 31 March. As with visiting all caves:

Do not take anything with you, do not leave anything behind, destroy nothing and do not kill anything!
