Excellent gravel section along the canal. The Deûle Canal connects the Scarpe, near Douai, to the Lys, near Deûlémont, close to the Belgian border.

The cemetery was constructed from October 1918. It contains the graves of 145 soldiers from the United Kingdom, 1 Canadian, 1 Chinese and 14 graves of German soldiers. A number of fallen soldiers are also buried in the local municipal cemeteries.
