11월 4, 2025, Church of Santa Eulàlia de Alaior
Majestic and visible from all over the town, this Gothic church dominates the historic centre with its pale stone façade and slender bell tower. The interior is spacious and bright, a calm space that contrasts with the narrow streets of the surrounding area. On a mountain bike, it is a good stop to rest and refill your water at the nearby springs. Tip: take the opportunity to climb up to the upper square - from there the views of the rooftops of Alaior and the Menorcan landscape are wonderful.

8월 22, 2024, Trepucó Talayotic Settlement
The village was home to generations of peasant families who based their economy on the control of flocks of goats, sheep, cows and pigs, complemented by the cultivation of cereals and legumes. Towards the 5th century BC, transformations took place in the Talayotic society, possibly related to the exchange of products and knowledge with the Carthaginian world, mainly through ships from the Punic colony of Ibiza. The original structure of the village was altered in 1781, when the Duke of Crillón established his military camp there during the siege of the Castle of San Felipe by Franco-Spanish troops, which was defended by the English army.

8월 22, 2024, Trepucó Talayotic Settlement
The great talayot, with a base measuring 26 metres in diameter, is one of the largest in the Balearic Islands. Through various archaeological interventions, it has been determined that the chronology of the settlement spans from the beginning of the Talayotic period (1200 BC) to the 3rd century BC, when it was violently destroyed and abandoned during the Second Punic War between the Romans and the Carthaginians. Some spaces continued to be used in the Andalusian period (902-1287).

8월 22, 2024, Trepucó Talayotic Settlement
Typical stone monument of the Talayotic culture. The process involved raising a vertical stone, possibly using a ramp of earth and stones to place a horizontal stone on top. These enclosures are found in large Talayotic villages and are thought to have had a religious function, possibly related to rituals involving fire, wine and animal offerings to the divinities. The vertical stone of the taula can exceed 10,000 kg, indicating the great effort and community participation necessary for its construction.

8월 31, 2023, Torre de Vigía de Alcalfar
Many centuries ago, on the peaceful island of Menorca, the "Alcafar Watchtower" stood proud on the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It was a warm summer afternoon when the inhabitants of the tower saw the glow of candles on the horizon. The rumor had reached them that the Barbary pirates were planning to plunder the coast, and they knew they had to be prepared. The tower's bell began to ring frantically, and villagers from nearby towns rushed to seek shelter in the tower. The men and women of the place, armed with rudimentary weapons of defense, united in solidarity to protect their homes and their lives. The Barbary pirates, with their black-sailed ships and waving flags, approached the coast of Menorca. The crew of the "Alcafar Watchtower" watched the enemy ships approach with a mixture of fear and determination. The voices of the villagers rang through the air, joining their prayers and whispers of bravery as they awaited the inevitable confrontation. As the pirates disembarked and advanced toward the coast, the tower's defenders waited silently, ready for confrontation. The tower leader raised his sword and encouraged everyone to stand firm. The sound of the pirates' war drums echoed on the breeze as they prepared for the clash. The battle was intense and fierce. The villagers fought with a passion that came from love for their land and their loved ones. Arrows and projectiles flew through the air as the tower became a bastion of resistance. The defenders used cunning tactics and their knowledge of the terrain to keep the invading pirates at bay.

Quiet beach with restaurant and parking with ramp for boats. The people in the restaurant were very kind and also sold me a bottle of water in the middle of August with the restaurant crowded.
