This is a pleasant cycleway between Harpenden and Luton with very little traffic during the day. It's got a good surface and nice views, especially during the autumn time with the falling leaves.

Popular area for kite flying and paragliding

Spacious, calm road. Majority of the car drivers are respectful to cyclists and overtaking cautiously.

Note that the line runs well below street level and thus needs to be accessed by a longer flight of stairs at this entry point. With a bikepacking load, a better alternative seems to be a ramp on Ambrose Lane, which I only discovered in hindsight.

This Tower was built in memory of Francis Egerton, who was the Third Duke of Bridgewater. Egerton was an expert in inland navigation. He was involved in the construction of the Bridgewater Canal (joining Worsley and Manchester), which is the first modern British canal. He also built the canal joining Liverpool and Manchester. Not only that, but he made 2 million pounds out of these adventures and ventures. Be sure to walk up to the top of the Tower. The views from up there are tremendous.

Beautiful Views and the N/T Cafe

Nice lake that can be found in Marston Vale Millennium Country Park. There are plenty of trails around the lake to chose from, all with that great view of the lake.

A delightful run through the woods when dry some hard packed soil/sand, some soft sand. its a nice fast gentle descent if coming from the north

There are some secluded spots, accessible via gaps in the shrubbery, great way to rest your feet or have a quick spot of lunch. Particularly peaceful on a warm sunny day.

Dunstable downs is a great place to bring a bike, once you have put the effort into riding up you are rewarded with great views and visitor centre where you can grab a coffee. Bridleways and tracks for those on mountain or gravel bikes and surfaced multi user path along the ridge for other bikes.
