The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Carate Brianza is located in the hamlet of Agliate: this is why it is known as the Basilica of Agliate. Dating back to the early 11th century, it is a Romanesque basilica, attributable to the Ottonian architectural tradition (Ottonian art is that which extends from 887, the beginning of the Ottonian dynasty, to the year 1000).
