The historic center is a small pearl, well preserved, worth a visit. from Wikipedia: Varzi (Vörs in Varzese dialect[4]) is an Italian municipality of 3,009 inhabitants in the province of Pavia in Lombardy. It is part of the circuit of the most beautiful villages in Italy. It is located in the Oltrepò Pavese, in a basin in the center of the Staffora valley, to the right of the homonymous stream, on the former state road 461 of the Penice Pass. Probably of Ligurian origin (the name contains the root var which - see the Var and Vara rivers - should mean river), Varzi has been known since 993, when it was a possession of the abbey of San Colombano di Bobbio.

A quiet Apennine pass, frequented by few cars and some motorcyclists. The surroundings of the pass are fantastic with gravel routes that quickly lead you to being alone with yourself.
