The oldest parts of the church date back to the 12th century. As is typical of many churches in Sweden, the nave and tower are separate. This is due to the fact that, when churches were built, there was often a lack of money and materials for a separate tower. These were often rebuilt later in a different style and material (often wood). The church owns three bridal crowns, including a rare pearl crown whose origin is thought to be from Russia.

Habo Church, located near Jönköping, is a remarkable wooden structure built in 1680, gaining its current form in 1723. It's renowned for its unique, cathedral-like appearance despite being constructed entirely of wood. The interior is decorated with beautiful paintings depicting biblical scenes. It's a must see in the area.
