The "Binnenborger Pättken" is a newly constructed bicycle path near the Vechte Bridge near Neuenhaus. The unpaved Binnenborger Pättken cycle path runs from the junction of Eschener Straße and Veldhausener Straße between fields and meadows, continuing for approximately one kilometer as Binnenborger Straße. The Binneborger Pättken is a well-maintained cycle path and leads over the Bentheim Railway tracks as an unguarded level crossing.

Here, at the border crossing (green border), the Ootmarsum Trail ends and the Frensdorf Trail begins in the Netherlands. The busy border path crosses at the same time. In addition to the adventure playground for children, the junction also features a comfortable shelter for hikers and cyclists.

The cycle path along the South-North Canal is beautiful. It has lovely, wide asphalt sections. However, the section between locks II and IV is partly a rustic and unpaved path.

Lake Vechte is located in the immediate vicinity of Nordhorn's city center. It acts as a buffer reservoir, protecting Nordhorn from flooding. It also serves as a local recreation area with excellent restaurants. There are many recreational opportunities here, such as sailing, surfing, or hiking or cycling around the beautiful Vechte Lake. Pedal boats and rowboats are available for rent at a boat rental shop, allowing you to explore Nordhorn's city center, for example. Tour boats also offer tours through Nordhorn's city center along the Vechte River, which branches off here.
