Even though the ground is loose, you can still ride well. There are always little rest stops along the canal – a good thing, especially at 38°C.

The path along the canal is easy to navigate, although some of the gravel is also manageable. It gives you a good jolt. Most importantly, you can observe and see many birds.

This is the only ferry across the Elbe-Lübeck Canal. It connects the communities of Siebeneichen and Fitzen. Even if you don't actually have to cross to the other side, the crossing is worth it for the experience alone. Especially since the ferry is free, but a donation is requested. The old brewery and distillery dates back to 1633. Today it is a private residence. The carving above the door is particularly worth seeing.

Not so good for cycling because of the cobblestones. But the route is not that long and the old buildings are definitely worth the slow ride or pushing.
